How much time will it take me to shoot a SAGAS video?
A SAGAS interview takes one hour. Total time depends on how far you need to drive. Video equipment set-up and making your subject comfortable usually takes 15 minutes

How do I find out about SAGAS jobs in my area?
When a customer orders a SAGAS video interview in your area, all potential interviewers in the area (by area code) are notified by email and online at the website. The job is awarded within 48 hours on a first-come, first-served basis.

How do I get paid?
You are automatically paid by check within three days of running our quality control check of your unedited original tape.

Can I edit the video myself?
SAGAS sells unedited videos to our clients. No editing will be required.

What equipment do I provide?
A mini DV camera, a tripod and at least two lavalier microphones (in case two people are to be interviewed) connected by wire to the camera.

What additional support does SAGAS provide me?
SAGAS provides online training. You should watch demos of completed interviews. You can read a handbook and watch our DVD describing the technical and artistic rules. You will be given information from the customer about what he/she is looking for in the interview. SAGAS maintains a bulletin board for you to share experiences and ideas with other SAGAS interviewers. Finally, we will enter your work into video competitions and the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress.

Our national marketing campaign will make you proud to be a member of SAGAS.

Who should become a SAGAS interviewer?
A person who is naturally curious, interested in stories and able to talk with people. You also need to own or have access to your own equipment. You must be on-time, reliable and friendly and excited by each new person you interview.

What questions do I ask in a SAGAS interview?
A good SAGAS interview is more that just asking questions from a sheet of paper. It involves listening to each answer and engaging in a dialogue. View our demos to understand this more deeply, get ideas as to style and become inspired. You might start with questions about the topics in the clients’ information sheet. Or you might find it easier to work up to that topic. The most important thing is to converse without reading a list of prepared questions.
How does Sagas get work for me?
We will launch a national marketing campaign, support it with a
easy-to-use website, top-notch customer service and offer a great product.
